Helene Thümmel

Helene Thümmel (*1990) studied architecture in Graz, Austria, and Media Arts and Practices/New Media in Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Since 2010, she has worked as a scenographer for theater and film productions in Austria and participated in various art collaborations and associations. Thümmel’s artistic practice spans analogue and digital media, drawing inspiration from science, logistics, and systems. She explores themes of time, distance, space, and borders within social and political contexts. Her work has been exhibited in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Germany, Slovenia, England, and more. In 2020/2021, she received the foreign scholarship for fine arts from the city of Graz and the Kunstraum scholarship from the state of Styria. In 2023, she was awarded the working scholarship from the city of Graz.
