Emma Cocker
Emma Cocker is a UK-based writer-artist and artistic researcher whose research involves diverse process-oriented, dialogic-collaborative and poetic-performative approaches to working with and through language. Cocker’s writing has been published in On Not Knowing: How Artists Think, 2013; Choreo-graphic Figures: Deviations from the Line, 2017; The Creative Critic: Writing as/about Practice, 2018, Writing Choreography: Textualities of and beyond Dance, 2024, and in the solo collections, The Yes of the No, 2016, and How Do You Do?, 2026. She was an invited artistic researcher in the Research Pavilion, Venice, 2019, and Helsinki, 2025. She is co-founder of the Society for Artistic Research Special Interest Group for Language-based Artistic Research, and is Associate Professor in Fine Art, Nottingham Trent University, UK.
