Cristina Materassi

Cristina Materassi (b. 1997) is research-based visual artist and museum mediator based in Turin. She investigates the polyphony and multiformity of spatial narratives as tools to rethink places and the structures that govern them. Through site-specific interventions and the use of language as an operative material, she highlights thresholds and tensions that characterize urban fabrics. Her work, rooted in educational experiences and social and cultural design, takes on a processual and relational dimension. She currently collaborates with the Fondazione Mario Merz and the social enterprise Arteco within museums and contemporary art institutions. She holds an MFA from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin aftert a BA in Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. She is the co-founder of Corrispondenze (2021–ongoing; Boscaini, Materassi).
